Grand Rapids Ranked Among Best Places To Live In 2020

US News & World Report ranked six Michigan cities among the top 150 communities in the United States for 2022-2023.

Grand Rapids, Mitch. Citing Grand Rapidia's love of art, gigantic performing arts and the majestic Grand River, US News & World Report says Grand Rapidia is one of the best places to live in the United States.

The report ranks Grand Rapids 16th in the world, ahead of cities like Madison, WI, Boston, MA and Washington DC.

The US News & World report also said that Grand Rapids "reflects the warmth of a small Middle Eastern town." The report also notes that Grand Rapids has a "thriving healthcare industry" and "a strong LGBT community."

According to US News and World Report, Grand Rapids is the 16th best place to live in the country.

Five other Michigan cities rank in the top 150 in Michigan, highest in Michigan and 11th in the nation.

  • In its report, US News analyzed 150 metros in the most densely populated areas and looked for suitable locations. The ranking is based on five individual scales, including the labor market index, scores index, quality of life index, desire index and net migration.
