For many, as summer vacation approaches, Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE) is preparing for one of the busiest travel times of the year.
Significant increases in travel are expected during the "100 Summer Days" between Remembrance Day and CLE Work Day.
2.8 million passengers are expected at the airport this summer. That's more than 2.3 million passengers in 100 summer days a year ago.
Compared to 2019, airport traffic has increased by 90%, which is much higher than official forecasts this year.
Cleveland Hopkins International Airport offers travel tips to provide travelers with a quality airport experience.
General travel tips
Plan in advance for traffic, parking, check-in, checkpoints, and bad weather, and arrive at least 2 hours early.
Check your flight status by contacting the airline or CLE website www.Clevelandairport.com
To ensure that the TSA checkpoints work as well as possible, Cleveland Hopkins International Airport reminds everyone to provide ID cards issued by the government.
Passengers can check the waiting time at the nearest checkpoint or on the CLE website.
TSA Travel Tips
Coats, jackets and other similar clothing should be removed and irradiated.
Children under the age of 12 do not need an ID card and do not need to take off their shoes before being protected.
TSA Pre✓ Dastup is available at Cleveland Hopkins Airport, which allows you to select frequent passengers from participating airlines and join the United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP) program for inspection benefits.
